In today’s competitive marketplace, it’s more important than ever to provide training for your staff
We’ve developed a series of practical, lab-specific courses to support your staff training requirements.
Whether you’re looking to obtain or maintain your NATA accreditation or to ensure your staff are kept
up-to-date, we have a course that will suit your needs.
Our courses are run online using the Zoom platform. This is to ensure the safety of our clients while still providing excellent learning outcomes.
For in-house courses, we’re happy to discuss running face-to-face sessions that comply with your COVID requirements.
Contact us for a confidential discussion about your training needs.
Why choose our training courses?
- We limit our course numbers to ensure the best results for all participants.
- We’re able to deliver highly practical sessions because we regularly interact with labs in their facilities, giving us up-to-date experiences.
- Our participants and their needs drive our training.
All of our courses include the option for participants to have their process, procedure or MU workings analysed and discussed as part of the course.
This means that participants walk away from the course with information that is of immediate use to them back in their workplace.
Our unique follow up process
Two weeks after the training, we catch up with each participant, just to be sure they’re on track.
Participants value this opportunity to ask questions that may have come up since their training.
Whether we run training specifically for your lab or you’re part of a public session, we can help you achieve your goals.
We know that training is the key to successfully growing your career.
So we’ve taken the guesswork out of which courses to do by putting together these bundles to support your career growth and success.
Our current, relevant training courses have been packaged to save your business time and money.
You can choose one of our prebuilt bundles or mix and match to create one that suits the needs of your business.

Our Measurement Uncertainty training course is one of our most popular courses. We ensure courses are highly interactive and constructive by keeping the group numbers small. Since participants work on examples from their own lab, they obtain immediate and practical benefits.
Participants learn how to evaluate the effects of various sources of measurement uncertainty to determine an appropriate calibration strategy. These principles can also be extended to different analytical techniques.
Our Measurement Uncertainty training course includes the following:
- The process of measurement uncertainty calculation and how it relates to Quality and Traceability
- How to determine the sources of uncertainty and quantify them
- Dealing with bias in your measurement process
- Calculating combined and expanded uncertainties
- Reporting results to the client
- Spreadsheet tools for uncertainty evaluation
- Work through your own measurement uncertainty budgets in guided workshops
- Putting your measurement uncertainty estimate to work in the lab
- How to write up your measurement uncertainty report for NATA
- Tips for presenting measurement uncertainty at a NATA assessment.
PLUS, our trainer will follow up with participants after the course to discuss any issues they may have encountered in the lab. Participants find this useful opportunity to ask further questions to be highly valuable.

Internal Audits are an important part of management systems. So we developed our unique training model which means that participants spend less time listening and more time doing.
Why is our course different? Because we use a process from your facility to ensure what you learn is of immediate and practical benefit.
Since we train you to carry out an internal audit using one of your organisation’s processes as an example, you’ll walk away with knowledge you can apply as soon as you’re back in your workplace.
You’ll learn internal audit techniques, communication strategies and handy tips for writing up audit notes.
When run as an in-house course, we’ll train staff using your processes in your facility saving you time and money! In addition, managers will learn how to effectively schedule audits using a risk-based approach.

What kind of risks do you face in your laboratory?
Risk isn’t just about toxic chemicals leaking or things exploding – although in some labs, that’s clearly a consideration! However, a comprehensive risk management system is essential to ensure quality of testing. It also protects the integrity of data, ensures data security, and reduces the possibility of financial loss due to unforeseen circumstances.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about risk management and its place in accreditation and certification management system standards.
You’ll be guided in creating, and implementing a risk management strategy to support your organisation’s goals and ensure risk minimisation. You’ll become competent in confidently identifying, evaluating and managing risk, while applying a risk management process and ensuring that your risk management strategy is aligned with your lab’s strategy. This will ensure you increase productivity and manage your laboratory better and smarter while continuing to comply with accreditation and certification criteria.

The ISO 9001 standard is one of the most widely used for quality management systems. Organisations can use this to demonstrate their ability to consistently deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
ISO 9001 contains criteria for a good quality management system. Any organisation can use it, regardless of the size or field of activity.
This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation of top management, and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services. It also allows for the control of processes to ensure best practice outcomes.

We all make mistakes, that’s a given.
However in a lab, it’s not enough to point the finger at someone and blame them for what went wrong. We need to backtrack, drill down into the process and work out the WHY of what happened.
And that’s precisely what a root cause analysis is for.
As well as pointing to a possibly serious flaw in your system, a root cause analysis will allow you to prevent it happening again.
For labs holding accreditation with NATA or certification, this could be anxiety inducing.
NATA or your certifier needs you to adequately undertake and importantly, be able to demonstrate that you’ve carried out an effective root cause analysis.
But what does this look like and where do you start?
In this half day course we will show you:
- Why a good root cause analysis can be the best investment of your organisation’s resources you will probably ever make
- How to identify problems, and work out their significance
- The techniques for carrying out a root cause analysis
- How to fix problems using your corrective action system
- How to defend your root cause analysis to an auditor

There is so much information online and so many courses about the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard it can be difficult to work out which one to choose.
Naturally in this course you will:
• Be shown why ISO/IEC 17025 should be used
• Look at each clause in the Standard
• Examine focus clauses in detail
• Discuss risk-based thinking and how it affects your implementation
• Learn how to apply the requirements of the Standard to your quality system
• Gain confidence in defending your implementation during an assessment
Our course is different.
We do examine the clauses of the Standard.
We do discuss their application in your lab.
But we also understand that often the reason you want to attend training is because of a specific issue.
Perhaps there’s a clause you don’t understand or don’t know how to implement.
Or perhaps you thought you understood it but at your last assessment, the team said you didn’t and the lab was given a nonconformance.
So we’d like you to think about which clauses you need more information about; which ones you’d like to discuss with someone outside your facility and get insights into its implementation.
Then we’ll ask you to send us those clauses and any specific questions before the course starts so we can drill down into those a bit more during the training.

It’s not done until it’s documented
From reports to memos to a full quality manual, we’ve all had to write documents.
But do you know how to write a good document that’s fit for purpose and easily understood?
And do you know why documentation is so critical to lab processes?
This course will show you how to:
- write policies, processes, procedures, and methods (and explain the difference)
- keep the audience in focus when writing your documents
- communicate effectively and clearly
- produce good quality documents.
You’ll learn:
- why good writing is important
- how to produce good documents and make them readable and actionable
- when pedantry has its place – and how to handle reviewers who want things written ‘their way’
- when to use technical language vs the ‘local lingo’.
PLUS you can bring your own examples, have them critiqued by the trainer and other participants and if necessary, receive support to re-draft them.

There’s a new ISO 15189 and knowing what that means can make for a lot of questions.
There is so much information online and so many courses about the ISO 15189 update it can be difficult to work out which one to choose.
Our course is different.
We get straight into the changes in ISO 15189 in one day so you don’t have to spend time on things you already know over two days. We do discuss their application in your lab.
But we also understand that often the reason you want to attend training is because of a specific issue.
Perhaps there’s a clause in Standard (even a pre-existing one!) that you don’t understand or don’t know how to implement. Or perhaps you thought you understood it but at your last assessment, the team said you didn’t and the lab was given a nonconformance. And what’s more troubling, this new Standard creates added uncertainty.
So we’d like you to think about which clauses you need more information about; and which ones you’d like to discuss with someone outside your facility and get insights into its implementation.
Then we’ll ask you to send us those clauses and any specific questions before the course starts so we can drill down into those a bit more during the training.
We don’t leave you high and dry after the workshop either – we’ll be in touch with you a few weeks after the training, just to make sure you’ve been able to apply what you’ve learned in your workplace!
